How Giants is implementing their FS 17 Modhub
So apparently the modder sends the mod to Giants, and they optimize the mod by removing any errors, bugs, and viruses. Then they send it back to the modder so they can add the LUA files. Then the mod is added to the Modhub list. If this is true I think it is a great idea, finally a place where you can get mods mostly worry free. However it seems that the modding community, especially the North American modding community is in a uproar. They claim it’s Giants stealing their mods, and that anybody can take a FS15 mod now. Have Giants do the work on it, and claim it as theirs. I have a feeling that this is going to limit mods on the consoles, as modders will steer clear of Giants Modhub.
Giants should respond to these questions:
Do these accusations have any merit to them? What kind of things will determine if a mod is good enough to be added to the Modhub, or not? And how will this effect the console gamers, especially when it comes to the North American market? Since the North American modding community seems to be the most vocal opposition to this system.
